Bridges
A dental bridge is a permanent appliance that replaces missing teeth. It consists of several pieces that fit into the open space where your tooth (or teeth) used to be.
Bridges can be made of ceramic, resin, porcelain, or metals like cobalt and gold.
Types of Dental Bridges:
-
Composite Bridges: A Composite bridge uses the teeth on either side of the space to replace the missing teeth. Composite Bridges are relatively inexpensive and require little or no tooth modification before placement.
-
Traditional Fixed Bridges: Most common type, includes crowns on either side of the pontic (artificial tooth).
-
Maryland Dental Bridges (Resin-Bonded Bridges): Used for front teeth, with porcelain or metal frameworks bonded to the back of adjacent teeth.
-
Implant-Supported Bridges: Anchored by dental implants surgically embedded into the jawbone.
-
Cantilever Bridges (Less Common): Used when only one side of the gap has a natural tooth.

Broken / Chipped Teeth
Emergency treatments for chipped and broken teeth aim to manage pain, prevent further damage, and restore the tooth’s function and appearance. Here’s a concise summary:
Dental Treatments:
-
Minor Chips: May only require smoothing or filling
-
Large Breaks: Might need a crown or cap to cover the tooth
-
Severe Cases: Could require root canal treatment if the nerves are exposed
-
Lost Tooth: Try to place it back in the socket or keep it moist in milk and seek immediate dental care
